Finn is looking for his forever home that can give him lots of love, pats, and the amazing life that he deserves. General Behavior: Finn is a very happy, sweet and funny boy. It may take him a minute to warm up to new people, but once he does, he is very affectionate and loves pets and attention. His love languages are touch and words of affirmation. He would do wonderfully with a breed-savvy family who can commit to looking after his gorgeous coat and who can keep this intelligent guy occupied. Likes & Dislikes: Finn loves to have his coat brushed and he loves a good belly rub. He leans into you to give and receive hugs and kisses. He enjoys playing with plush toys. He loves taking walks and does well in the car. He enjoys chasing lizards, although his foster mom doesn't think he's caught one yet. Training: Finn is a smart cookie! He knows how to sit and is working on his recall. He waits patiently by the door to go on a walk or car ride and is good on a leash. He is doing extremely well with house training. He may bark if he sees the mailman outside but will stop if you ask his to. Finn is not reactive to loud noises, such as a vacuum, blender, mower, thunder or even a hurricane. Medical: Finn is very healthy. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and spayed. He only requires monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Other Animals: Finn is good with other dogs. He absolutely adores playing with his foster sister. He would enjoy sharing a home with another friendly dog. His foster mom has not tested his with cats but believes he would be good with them, too. Children: Finn is gentle with children but may need a minute to warm up to them. Home: Finn would do well in a single-family home with a fence to roam and chase lizards and hopefully play with a new brother or sister. Grooming: As a Komondor breed, Finn does not shed but will require daily brushing if he is kept short, which he enjoys very much. He will require professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. The cost of grooming for a pooch his size runs approximately $100. Overall: This beautiful, sweet boy is always so happy and will make you happy just to look at him. She has overcome death, and made a miraculous recovery here in in rescue. She does have some lifelong medical conditions that will require ongoing medical care, a strict prescription food diet, medication, and may have some costly vet care in her lifetime. Any adopter should be sure they can financially take her on before applying! Minnie Mouse came to us lifeless, with no body fat, no fur, and little hope of survival, but this girl is a fighter and just celebrated her second birthday! She weighs 10 pounds and is the sweetest, happiest little Shorkie you will ever meet. Minnie Mouse is crate trained, leash trained, and loves car rides. She does use peepads and potties outside, but her EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) does cause some extra pee to occur and she may have accidents if not on a consistent bathroom schedule. Minnie Mouse does take daily medication and eats prescription food that must be continued as her condition can become deadly if treatment isn't followed. She is super easy to care for, a great eater, and cooperates for her weekly baths too! We are open to a local to Lebanon PA foster to adopt home or a straight adoptive home for this little girl. We are always a support system for our adopters and can be available to assist with any questions or concerns throughout Minnie Mouse's life in a new home. She is around 1 1/2 years old and weighs 8 pounds. Sadly, she was abandoned at a vet's office, skinny, covered in fleas and mosquito bites, and was so weak she could barely stand. This brave little girl fought hard to live. She went through extensive vet care and hospitalization, including blood transfusions. All of that is now behind her and sh makes every day an adventure. She loves her long walks and wants to say hi to everyone she meets. She loves people of all sizes and ages, and all dogs. Twinkie is very playful with her foster fur brothers and sisters that are around her size. She loves to play with toys, play tug-of-war, and chew on Himalayan cheese sticks. Twinkie also loves chasing lizards and sunning in the back yard, but her most favorite thing is playing with her foster siblings. We want her to go to a home with a secure fenced yard and with another playful pup around her size and playfulness. She has too much energy for a senior dog. She is so curious about everything around her. Twinkie is such an affectionate little sweetheart, likes her lap time and to be held, giving lots of cuddles and kisses. When it's meal time, she is the first in line, definitely motivated by food. She is house trained and she sleeps well on the human bed quietly all night. She enjoys car rides. Twinkie is the cutest little baby girl and is all the wonderful things we all love about dogs. She would love to be part of your family and share that love with you. The specialty vet that Twinkie saw was not sure if her anemia was caused by the flea infestation or if it had an immune mediated cause, So therefore to be safe, the vet has recommended that she not be vaccinated, and it will be required of the new family to get Titers testing on her for rabies and DAPP/DHPP within 2 weeks. Twinkie can not ever be boarded or taken to a dog park or be around unvaccinated dogs. Special Adoption Considerations: Neroli is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. He loves kids, other dogs, and cats too. He is playful and energetic, and loves all people of all ages. He is also super smart and a fast learner. Despite his playful personality, Spot also loves to cuddle and to be petted. Spot absolutely loves playing with kids, he is an awesome dog to have around kids and would do great in home with kids. If there are no kids in home, he would do better having another dog in home to play with, since he is very playful. Spot loves to play with other dogs, whether they are around his size (currently 12lbs) or much bigger than him, he doesn’t mind!
